Performance

GPU-accelerated live production.

Smooth switching, broadcast graphics and streaming on hardware you already own — with clear specs so you know what to expect before you trial or buy.

How it renders

Built around your graphics card.

CoreMCR composites your Program mix on the GPU using Direct3D on Windows, then encodes video with your graphics card’s hardware encoder — NVIDIA NVENC, Intel Quick Sync or AMD AMF — chosen automatically. That keeps your CPU free for the rest of the show: inputs, audio, graphics and control.

Resolutions & frame rates

Honest expectations by workload.

Performance depends on resolution, how many live inputs you run, and your GPU. Here is what typically works well.

1080p30 / 1080p60

With a few inputs — smooth on most modern PCs that have a hardware encoder or recent Intel Quick Sync.

1440p

Fully supported. Plan on the recommended specs below for several live sources.

4K recording & output

With a few inputs — recommended on a strong PC (dedicated GPU and plenty of RAM).

Many 4K cameras

Running many simultaneous 4K live cameras needs a high-end PC. Scale inputs and resolution to match your machine.

System requirements

Three sensible starting points.

Use these as defaults. Your exact mix of cameras, graphics and destinations may need more — or less.

Minimum

1080p30 · 2–3 inputs

A solid entry point for smaller services and simple shows.

  • Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
  • Quad-core CPU (Intel i5 8th-gen / Ryzen 5 or better)
  • GPU with a hardware encoder, or recent Intel Quick Sync
  • 8 GB RAM
  • SSD storage
Recommended

1080p60 · several inputs

The sweet spot for most churches, creators and small studios.

  • Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
  • 6-core CPU (Intel i5/i7 10th-gen+ / Ryzen 5/7)
  • Dedicated GPU with NVENC or AMF (GTX 1660 / RTX 2060 or better)
  • 16 GB RAM
  • NVMe SSD
Pro

1440p–4K · many inputs

For heavier productions with more cameras and higher output.

  • Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
  • 8-core+ CPU (i7/i9 / Ryzen 7/9)
  • RTX 3060 or better
  • 32 GB RAM
  • Fast NVMe SSD
  • Wired gigabit network

CoreMCR runs on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit).

Tuning

What affects performance.

Your chosen resolution, the number of live inputs, which encoder is selected, and heavy motion graphics all add load. A few habits keep the show stable.

Load factors

  • ▸Resolution & frame rate — 1080p60 costs more than 1080p30; 4K costs more still.
  • ▸Live inputs — each camera, capture and screen share adds decode and composite work.
  • ▸Encoder choice — hardware NVENC / Quick Sync / AMF is far lighter on the CPU than software encoding.
  • ▸Motion graphics — busy animated titles and effects raise GPU load.

Tips for best performance

  1. 01Select the hardware encoder in Settings.
  2. 02Keep your GPU drivers up to date.
  3. 03Record to a fast SSD (NVMe when you can).
  4. 04Close other heavy apps while streaming.
